Post-Mastectomy Strength Training Grant Program

I am raising money for women who have had mastectomies. It is at least a 6-8 week recovery and mentally it can be a lifetime. It will provide the opportunity for women to gain strength with someone who has gone through it.

The grant program is sponsoring 5 women post surgery and clearance from doctors. They will receive 3 months of training one-on-one with bodyenroute and along with online virtual meetings.

Over $700/person value.

“After you finish with physical therapy, there is a still a long ways to go to be able to return to physical activity. I decided to train myself after cleared by my surgeon and PTs, and have regained my former strength and power. I want to be able to help other women going through a similar experience that can not afford strength training.”

Pro-Tec Athletics Involvement

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, during October, Pro-Tec Athletics has committed to donating a portion of pink product sales (Orb, Stretch Band and Standard Foam Roller) to my Post-Mastectomy Strength Training Grant Program.

Post-Mastectomy Exercises Using the Orb

Posterior Roll – Rolling out your glute and hamstring are beneficial for lower back pain post mastectomy. It can be a lingering pain, the orb ball is PERFECT for this. 1-2 min per side. You can do this every day!

Chest Roll – This one must be cleared from your doctor post mastectomy. It may be a longer time till you do this one as your chest is very fragile post surgery. It has been one that is so helpful when  you are cleared. Perform this exercise every other day 1-2 min per side.

Trap Roll – This one is a life saver, because your traps get SO tight post surgery and this one is for everyone! Sitting at a desk?? Yes this one is for you, everyday you can do this 1-2 min on each side.

Lat Roll – This one is a little painful depending on the sport you do. I am a climber so those lats get SO tight. If you do any upper body sports this one is for you! Again, post-mastectomy you must be cleared from a doctor.
